Color Theory

What is color theory?

It is practice of identifying an individual’s skin overtone and undertone and creating customized colors by applying knowledge of how pigments will heal in the scalp and skin.  There are different approaches when mixing colors for Scalp Micropigmentation versus Scar Camouflage since the scalp and body skin absorb and reflect color differently.

Scalp Micropigmentation pigments, whether using the dilution method, modification method or both, allow for virtually any shade to be custom-mixed by Jenn to complement your hair color and skin tone.  By properly mixing custom pigment colors you avoid unwanted results such as a blue or green hue.  While there are several quality brands of pre-mixed pigments, it is still necessary to modify these for exceptional results.  And, by using the layering method for SMP application, the color and density builds with each session, providing maximum control.

SMP Color Correction is achieved by considering a person’s skin tone and undertone and applying the concept of color neutralization, in addition to having knowledge of how the pigment will heal in the scalp.

Body Scar, Stretch Mark and Areola treatments often require more than one shade/tone/dilution of pigment since skin and scars can be multi-colored.  With each person’s skin being utterly unique, custom-mixing pigments is essential for optimal results.
